2.3. Metapolitics

Politics and power are inseparable concepts. Implementation of power depends on power resources. The most influential power resource is spiritual power. The negative form of this power takes the form of manipulation of consciousness, the destruction of clear thinking and the creation of a sense of powerlessness. However, spiritual power is also a common identity and the shaping of public opinion — metapolitics.

Metapolitics is one of the key elements of the new strategy of nationalism. It is a method of social change with activities in the field of culture. Metapolitical action takes place before political change — it is the education of activists and public actions that operate in all directions in order to achieve transformation of the whole social organism, after which the parliamentary procedure just shows the outcome of this spiritual struggle. This idea of a ‘New Right’ was taken from the Italian communist Gramsci; he created the method that Cultural Marxists have nearly perfected. Ethnofuturism has to achieve its cultural hegemony, thus ensuring and legitimising change at the parliamentary level. Metapolitics has to be used for reconstruction — operating with the concepts, values and revaluation of these values, or more precisely — the return to their original meaning. The metapolitics of Ethnofuturism focuses on strengthening authentic gender, ethnic and cultural identities.

It is important to follow the main goal of metapolitics — to convince the majority to join the minority, keeping the basic principles of this minority. Political parties tend to adapt to the majority of values by changing their principles. This is called ‘mainstreaming’. However, by this process nationalist parties often simply lean ‘left’ within the anti-national system, gaining absolutely nothing for their nationalistic goals. Metapolitical struggle has to be organised by a disciplined minority who are aware of the direction they are moving in and how to achieve their goals — step by step. To strengthen authentic identity, one needs a strict nationalistic approach in the basic principles, but a flexible approach to strategy. Nationalism basically means recognition of an objective reality, which is denied by postmodern liberalism. Ethnofuturist metapolitics is organic and based on the reality of society as such. In this kind of metapolitics, a naturally hierarchical model is strengthened from the basics — in the centre of it all is the strengthening of the family. The strengthening of the nation, which is like an extended family, follows this. These two are the basic values that have to be defended by the new nationalist metapolitics. Promotion of higher birth rates, uniqueness of the nation’s ethnic character, the subordination of laws to culture and national interests — these have to be granted as values. Multiculturalism and globalism have to be shown as impossible social experiments, through the use of clear historical analogies and symbols. The most important battle for metapolitics is over anthropology — the teaching about human society in the past and the present. Anthropology fell into the hands of liberals and Marxists in the early 20th century and the subsequent takeover of Cultural Marxists in the fields of social sciences and media was their main base of operations in the ‘march through the institutions’.
